Connect Claude Code
Updated June 9, 2026
Connecting Claude Code lets it read your team's context from Milestone and write back what it learns — conventions, decisions, and the reasons behind them. Claude Code runs locally on your machine and talks to Anthropic directly; Milestone does not route your prompts through its own servers.
What gets shared
Only the context you choose for a session is shared with the agent. You stay in control of what each session can see.
Before you start
- Milestone installed and signed in to your workspace.
- Claude Code installed on the same machine.
Connect Claude Code
Open integrations
In Milestone, open Settings → Integrations and find Claude Code.
Generate a connection
Start the connection from Milestone. This exposes your workspace context to the agent over MCP (the Model Context Protocol).
Point Claude Code at your workspace
Add the Milestone MCP server to your Claude Code configuration so it can read and write context. For example:
claude mcp add milestone
Verify the connection
Run a session and ask the agent about a recent decision or convention. If it answers from your workspace, the connection is live.
How sessions use your context
When you run a session, Claude Code pulls the context you've selected from the knowledge graph and uses it to do the work. As it goes, it can write back what it learns so the next session — yours or a teammate's — doesn't start from zero.
Give it something to read
The more your workspace captures — tasks, decisions, conventions — the more useful each session is. A few minutes of setup pays off on every run.
